The Mamas and Coffee Newsletter
Real Life. Real Conversations. Real Stroke Stories That Matter.
Hey FABulous Reader,
The weather’s warming up… and life is life-ing.
I’ve got two big mama moments quickly approaching - one graduating college, one graduating high school and somehow, I’m also a week away from my 5-year strokeaversary. YES! My stroke happened 5 years ago on April 17th at a party. A party for my husband to be exact.
Yeah the emotions are doing what they want right now. Shhh....it's just my allergies acting up. 🥹 But we’re still making space for the real talk, the laughs, and the conversations that matter.
So let me catch you up on all the things Mamas and Coffee.
The Mamas and Coffee Show
Okay… I have a question.
When your garage door is open… what are we seeing??
Meanwhile…others are over here like: “Why do I have all this stuff??”. Let's not even talk about Grace's 41 bins and my 7 bottles of shampoo. Y'all, there was a lot going on in our latest episode. Trust, you will be entertained and learn something new.
On our last LIVE episode of The Mamas and Coffee Show, we got real about it ALL: – Minimalist vs. maximalist (or… are we creeping into hoarder territory?) – Keeping things “just in case” And figuring out if your home actually works for your life.
💡 Grace dropped a There Ain’t No Waytip that you’re going to want to try, especially if you like a little decor without all the commitment or don't want/can't paint.
💜 And during our Stroke Talks segment, I took a moment to invite fellow stroke warriors to come share their stories—real, raw, and unfiltered, just like we do here. So, please check out our Stroke Talks section of this newsletter and submit your information to be a guest to share your story.
Let’s just say… this episode is a mix of laughs, real talk, and a little “okay wait… she might be talking about me” 👀
I used to think strokes only happened to “old” people… not someone like me—in my 40s, laughing, dressed up, and enjoying my husband’s farewell party.
Then suddenly… nothing.
I woke up in a hospital bed being told I had a stroke. No warning signs. No major health issues. Just confusion, fear, and a diagnosis I never saw coming—caused by a rare condition called carotid webbing, something I had never even heard of.
And here’s the thing… many women like me haven’t either.

The Mamas and Coffee Newsletter Real Life. Real Conversations. Real Stroke Stories That Matter. Hey FABulous Reader, Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get talked about enough! The parts of a stroke that no one can see. Because if we’re being real, most people only recognize a stroke survivor by the physical signs. The limp, the speech, the visible changes. But what about the things that don’t show up on the outside? The brain fog. The mental exhaustion. The emotional ups and downs. The...
The Mamas and Coffee Newsletter Real Life. Real Conversations. Real Stroke Stories That Matter. Hey FABulous Reader, So we went LIVE for The Mamas and Coffee Show and yeah we had QUESTIONS & shared our perspectives. Because when did all this change?! Back in MY day (and yes, I’m saying that proudly, sounding like my mama remembering how I used to ear hustle her and her friends talk sitting on the porch on a hot summer night.), prom was junior/senior year, and graduation was when you finished...
