Empowering Women One Sip At A Time

Hey Reader,

A TRUE Mamas and Coffee moment just happened, and if you've been around here for any length of time, you know these moments tend to find me.

My middle daughter drove her younger sister's car to the dentist this morning and called to let me know the tire pressure was low. My first response was simple: "No worries. Tell Daddy to look at it when he gets off work." Problem solved.

Or so I thought.

Later, my middle daughter invited me to lunch. And by "invited me to lunch," I mean I somehow ended up paying. Her explanation? "I'm just a girl home from college." Honestly, I couldn't even argue with the logic.

On the way to lunch, I told her we would stop and add air to the tire. There was no reason to bother my husband. I could handle it. Her response was immediate.

"You should probably just wait on Daddy."

Now, I don't know if she was questioning my tire-filling abilities or simply trying to save me from myself, but I was determined to prove that I could, in fact, add air to a tire.

So I pulled up to the air pump, paid, and got to work. Everything was going smoothly until I decided I should add air to all four tires to even out the pressure. It seemed like the responsible thing to do at the time.

Unfortunately, one of the tires disagreed with my plan and promptly started losing air.

At that point, I decided lunch sounded like a much better use of my energy.

After lunch, I stopped by the grocery store to grab salmon for dinner. As we were walking across the parking lot, I pulled my key fob out of my pocket and somehow launched it directly underneath the car parked next to us. Not beside the car. Not near the tire. Underneath the car.

The next thing I knew, I was on my hands and knees in the rain, reaching as far as I could under someone else's vehicle while my daughter watched this entire scene unfold. I'm sure I looked completely normal. 😄

Eventually, I managed to retrieve the key fob, climb back into my car, and continue on with my day.

As I drove away, I couldn't help but laugh. Because if there were ever a perfect example of a Mamas and Coffee moment, this was it. Just out here living life, doing my best, and occasionally creating problems I didn't have five minutes earlier.

And honestly, that's exactly why I'm writing this email today.

So many of us spend our days focused on what didn't get done, what went wrong, or what we should have handled differently. We replay mistakes. We second-guess decisions. We compare ourselves to everyone else and somehow convince ourselves that we're falling behind.

Meanwhile, we're showing up every single day.

We're taking care of families, working jobs, managing households, supporting friends, navigating challenges, carrying responsibilities, and doing our best with what we have in this season of life. Some days look polished. Other days look like crawling around a rainy parking lot trying to rescue a key fob from under a stranger's car.

Both count.

That's why I want to remind you of something today.

YOU are doing great.

Not because everything is perfect. Not because you have it all figured out. Not because you've checked every item off your to-do list.

You're doing great because you keep showing up.

You keep trying.

You keep loving the people around you.

You keep moving forward, even on the days when it feels messy.

And that deserves a round of applause.

If I'm being honest, this reminder is for me too. Sometimes even MomJonz needs someone to say, "Hey girl, look at you. You're doing great."

So today, let me be that person for you.

You are kind. You are capable. You are needed. You are loved.

And you are absolutely FABulous.

Now straighten that crown, grab your "coffee", and keep going. The world is better because you're in it.

With love, positivity, and a little extra FABulousness,

Sybil 💕

Hey Reader, Our last Mingle Monday was filled with honesty, encouragement, and plenty of “me too” moments. We talked about how stroke can change friendships, daily life, and even the way we see ourselves. Some friends show up, some quietly disappear, and others simply don’t understand that recovery doesn’t end when we leave the hospital. We also discussed speech challenges, invisible struggles, social isolation, and the comfort of connecting with fellow stroke warriors who truly understand....
