Hey Reader, It's been a little while since I've sent out a Stroke Talks newsletter or hosted one of our Mingle Mondays. This summer has been a whirlwind. I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off, soaking up every minute with my daughters while they're home from college, helping my youngest get ready to head off to college herself, and trying to figure out whether our family is moving... or not. YIKES! It's been a lot. But through all of it, one thing kept coming back to me... I missed you. I realized something these past few months. Stroke recovery isn't just about appointments, medications, or milestones. Sometimes, it's simply about having people who understand. I genuinely miss talking with fellow survivors, caregivers, and advocates. I miss seeing your smiling faces, hearing your stories, and reminding one another that none of us are walking this journey alone. So... Mingle Mondays are back! 📅 Monday, July 27 via Zoom This month's conversation is all about Friendships After Stroke. Did your friendships change after your stroke? Did some friendships become stronger while others faded away? Have you found new friendships through the stroke community? Or are you still searching for people who truly understand what you're going through? Whatever your experience, I'd love for you to join us. There are no right or wrong answers just real conversations with people who get it. Come Hang Out With UsNo pressure. No presentations. No need to have all the answers. Just a group of stroke survivors, caregivers, and advocates showing up, sharing our experiences, laughing a little, and reminding one another that we're not navigating this journey alone. If that sounds like something your heart could use right now, click below to reserve your FREE spot. I'd LOVE to see your face on Monday!
I can't wait to catch up, hear what's been happening in your world, and simply spend some time together again. See you Monday, July 27th! And don't forget to visit my channel and watch the latest interview with Che-lei back in June. When I tell you it's been a while, it has truly been a while of me getting it together. And you know what? That's ok. A Little Favor ☕Mingle Mondays are completely FREE to attend because I believe everyone deserves a place to connect, be heard, and find community after stroke. |

As my waiter told me the other day when I mentioned about celebrating my 49th today, "Oh, turn up on your 29th!" Hey Reader, Our last Mingle Monday was filled with honesty, encouragement, and plenty of “me too” moments. We talked about how stroke can change friendships, daily life, and even the way we see ourselves. Some friends show up, some quietly disappear, and others simply don’t understand that recovery doesn’t end when we leave the hospital. We also discussed speech challenges, invisible struggles, social isolation, and the comfort of connecting with fellow stroke warriors who truly understand....
